Join us for a free introductory student gathering of the Dances of Universal Peace near the C.U. Boulder campus. These circle dances were started in the late 1960s in the San Francisco Bay area by Sufi teacher, Samuel Lewis as a way to promote an appreciation of religious diversity and to foster peace within ourselves, in our personal relationships and among people of different faith traditions. Each dance is accompanied by live music and is inspired by sacred phrases and mantras from the world’s wisdom traditions. The dances are designed for easy participation and inclusion. No experience or partner necessary.
Timothy Dobson has taught these dances in weekly classes along Colorado’s Front Range, at national conferences and at international workshops and dance camps for many years. He brings a gentle teaching style that is both sincere and humorous. Learn more at www.DUP-CO.com and the related links.
